N 216 010 DB IV diesel locomotive
New for 2021: The class V 160 or 216 was the Bundesbahn's express train locomotive for routes without contact wire in the 1960s and 1970s. The redesign of this important vehicle type not only closes a gap in the Piko range, but will also enrich many model railroad layouts from Eras III to V with numerous variants. The development team implemented the striking shape of the prototype in outstanding quality in the model and at the same time achieved ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are underlined by the effective use of perfect engravings and a coating that is consistent down to the smallest detail. Modern LED technology serves as the basis for the light change in red / white as well as the light functions that can be switched by retrofitting a digital decoder. The digital interface Next18 according to NEM 662 is state-of-the-art, a decoder can easily be attached. The buffer beam of the vehicle can be completed prototypically with the supplied accessories.
