Die Niederländische Staatsbahn beschaffte die 2-achsigen Verschub- Diesellokomotiven in den Jahren 1934 bis 1951 beim Hersteller Werkspoor, eine Lieferserie auch bei CW Zwolle. Insgesamt wurden 169 Stück in einigen Serien und etwas unterschiedlicher Ausführung gebaut. Aufgrund ihres markanten Auspuff-Geräusches sind sie als „Sikken" bzw. „Sik" – Singular für „Ziege" – zum Begriff bei Eisenbahnern und Eisenbahnfreunden geworden.
