Since 2021, six connections a day with a travel time of 3.5 hours have been offered between Zurich HB and Munich Hbf. The reason for the acceleration is the closing of the electrification gap in the Deutsche Bahn section between Geltendorf and Lindau. To draw attention to this, SBB Passenger Transport has wrapped two of its Re 421 locomotives in a dark blue advertising livery. The locomotives are primarily used between Zurich HB–Lindau and Zurich HB–Singen.
