The vehicle's superstructure is constructed of metal. Other components are made of detailed plastic parts. This vehicle has separately applied details. It also has an authentic olive green paint scheme. The vehicle is lettered with identifying marks. Length approximately 4.4 cm / 1-3/4".

German Federal Army type 0,4 t tmil (4 x 2) passenger vehicle. The civilian VW 181 is based on this vehicle. With the convertible soft top down.

Passenger Vehicle or Jeep? The type 181 "Kurierwagen" from VW was an interim solution between 1969 and 1979 for the German Federal Army after the all-wheel drive diesel "Munga" and before the fully all-terrain VW "Iltis" (currently Bombardier)


The predecessor and the successor were designated as trucks; the VW 181 rates "only" as a partial military (tmil) passenger vehicle. The last 181 vehicles were retired by the German Federal Army in 2000.
