37330 DB IV Glass Train (G-Scale)

This loco is modeled after the original, made to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the German railways. Two self-propelled cars were manufactured for the purpose of sight-seeing trips.  These sophisticated cars were designed to provide passengers with a panoramic view, so as many surfaces as possible were comprised of glass including parts of the roof.

New for 2021: With the “glass train”, PIKO is putting another piece of railway nostalgia on the tracks. The glass car body allows a view of the interior, including the figures that have already been installed at the factory. Interior lighting installed ex works illuminates the passengers. The driver's desk is also illuminated. The light changes red/white depending on the direction of travel. For operation in Austria, an SBS 65 single-arm pantograph was attached to the original in 1976. The Era IV model also reflects this special feature. The rest of the roof equipment is harmoniously reproduced with various roof cables and insulators. A powerful Bühler motor gives the “glass” from PIKO sufficient pulling power. To ensure optimal power supply, two additional rail grinders are attached. The digital version is already equipped with a decoder and sound at the factory. A special feature is the digitally controllable current collector. All of these functions can be retrofitted to the analogue version.
