Novelty 2024: The PIKO model of the DB E 18 is the first, consistently true-to-model large-scale series model of this series in a 1:160 scale. Particularly noteworthy are the model roof equipment, the pantographs typical of the DB locomotives as well as the insulators in the finest design. All roof lines were made of metal. The fine wheel sets with spring pot imitation represent an absolute novelty in a 1:160 scale. The lamps appear in an model shape and size. The powerful engine, equipped with two large flywheels, ensures the problem-free transport of heavy express trains even in the model by driving four axles. In addition, two wheels were provided with adhesive tires in a diagonal arrangement. For uncomplicated retrofitting of a digital decoder, the model has a modern PluX16 interface.
