Piko 51183 - ~E 44 001 Electric Locomotive DB III Sound (MFX)
Sound-Electric Locomotive 144 001 DB IV AC version, including PIKO sound decoder
Novelty 2024: The success story of the E 44 series began in 1930 with the pre-series locomotive E 44 001, later 144 001-5, built by Siemens-Schuckertwerke, which was implemented as a large-scale series model as part of this project. The miniatures of both the preliminary and series locomotives shine through their exact scale implementation. Equally sharp and precise engravings on the case provide enormous sculptural depth and anderline the excellent overall impression. This also continues in the chassis area with numerous specially attached parts on the distinctive bogies. Identical in model quality, the differences between the model locomotives were implemented in the model with the greatest possible level of detail. Technically, the model also leaves little to be desired: the drive is both proven and robust, and a PluX22 interface makes it easy to retrofit a digital decoder. In this constellation, it is possible, for example, to switch engine room and driver's cab lighting. The variants, which are factory-equipped with a PSD XP sound decoder with vehicle sound, bring the typical “growling” of the claw bearing drive to the model railway.
The model bears the “fits mfx®” quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital centers, a new quality mark “fits mfx®” was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have andergone a special mfx® test and have passed it completely. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the “fits mfx®” quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
