Piko 97540 - CC 65000 Diesel Locomotive SNCF
SNCF CC 65000 diesel locomotive
New for 2026: Powerful Pioneers of the Diesel Age – the CC 65000 Series.
With the CC 65000 series (originally Type 060-DB), the French national railway SNCF initiated the transition from steam to diesel operation in the 1950s. These 20 twin-engine, diesel-electric locomotives were designed for mixed express and freight service and proved their worth on the non-electrified lines in western France – from Nantes via Tours to Bordeaux and La Rochelle. Built from 1956 onwards and officially designated CC 65001 to 65020 from 1962, they stood for performance, reliability, and modernity. Although they were retired in the 1980s, two of these distinctive locomotives live on: CC 65001 at the Cité du Train railway museum in Mulhouse and CC 65005, which is awaiting restoration.
The model depicts the original version | Metal body | Illuminated driver's console | Digital operation with switchable cab and engine room lighting | Detailed cab and engine room interior | Separately applied sandboxes, sand pipes, and brake shoes | Extra fuel caps, brake lines, speedometer drive, and horns | Finely detailed handles and steps | PluX22 interface for easy sound retrofitting | Brake hoses and coupling hooks included.
These items were produced in cooperation with Gebr. Märklin + Cie. GmbH, Göppingen. A corresponding AC model can be found in the Märklin H0 range!
