The Fennek armored reconnaissance vehicle, introduced in the German Armed Forces in 2003, is the successor to the Lynx armored reconnaissance vehicle. The four-wheeled Fennec is a lightweight armored reconnaissance vehicle and, at the same time, the major weapons system of the army‘s reconnaissance force. Its crew consists of 3 soldiers. The vehicle is equipped with special sensors for observation and reconnaissance purposes. The Fennec can be equipped with a wide variety of armaments. With 222 units purchased by the German Armed Forces, the Fennec is manufactured at Krauss Maffei Wegmann. With an engine power of 240 HP, the Fennec can, if necessary, travel at speeds of up to 115 kilometres per hour.

Schuco is going to produce a miniature model of this Fennec to a scale of 1:87. Military models come with a metal body and chassis. As is expected of Schuco models, a number of key features have been reproduced exactly with the greatest attention to detail.
