Product Description
Prototype: 5 type Kds 54 bulk powdered freight silo cars, 5 type Kds 56 bulk powdered freight silo cars.
Model: Era III. All of the cars have different car numbers and close coupler mechanisms. They also have numerous, separately applied details. All of the cars come individually packaged and are available separately at your authorized dealer.
Length over the buffers for each car 53 mm / 2-1/8".
The German Federal Railroad placed orders for various silo cars for the transport of powdered and finely granulated freight starting in 1955, and these cars were designed for more efficient filling and emptying. The cars were characterized by the silo-shaped containers, which varied in height and number depending on the model. The cars were filled by means of an opening on the top that could be closed by a lid; they were unloaded by means of a modern compressed air emptying system.
