Prototype: German Railroad, Inc. (DB AG) express locomotive, road number 101 088-3. Promotional design "DAMPFBAHN-ROUTE Sachsen" ("STEAM RAILROAD ROUTE Saxony"). The locomotive looks as it currently does in 2022.

Only in Saxony can you travel with narrow gauge steam trains every day and at any time of the year through various corners of a German Federal state well worth seeing. No other region in Germany has such a lively cultural heritage including five narrow gauge railroads operated daily, three other steam operated museum railroads, numerous museums, memorials, and actively preserved witnesses to railroad history. The STEAM RAILROAD ROUTE Saxony called into being in 2009 has been designed as a vacation road through the Free State, which links the wide variety of Saxon steam railroads and railroad museums with the tourist highpoints of the regions.Since the end of November 2021 the DB electric locomotive, road number 101 088, used mostly to pull IC express trains has been promoting the Steam Railroad Route. The largest and smallest of the Saxon steam locomotives can be seen on a golden brown background. The "SAXONIA" built in 1838 in Übigau near Dresden for the Leipzig-Dresden Railroad Company (LDE) was the first working steam locomotive in Germany (replica presently in the Dresden Transportation Museum). Conversely road number 19 017 – also known as the "Pride of Saxony" – represents the end of Saxon steam locomotive development as the largest Saxon steam locomotive. It is preserved for posterity in the railroad museum in the former railroad maintenance facility in Dresden-Altstadt.

Many sound and control functions.
