Between 1890 and 1909, the Royal Wurttemberg State Railway Company operated 125 Fc class locomotives. The first 30 Fc class locomotives were given names of mountains and mountain ranges. Locomotive no. 624 was named Hegau, which is a mountainous region west of Lake Constance. The Fc class was the support of the Royal Wurttembergs freight train service at the turn of the century.
