Northrail GmbH was one of the first purchasers of the Voith Gravita 10 BB. The company, founded in 2008, is acting as a locomotive leasing company and has since then been hiring out the locos to third parties. For example, the first 10 of the 260 models without Diesel particulate filter, which were built for the DB, have been placed in Northrail&lsquo, s fleet and leased to DB Schenker. Other companies such as BASF AG or Mindener Kreisbahnen GmbH are also among the leasees.
