Electric locomotive double traction Re 10/10 of the Swiss Federal Railways.
■ Consisting of Re 6/6 11672 and Re 4/4 III 11361 ■ Both locomotives fully equipped ■ Re 6/6 with "Balerna" coat of arms ■ Fine, separately attached ventilation grilles and windshield wipers made of etched sheet metal ■ Both locomotives in traffic red paintwork ■ In digital operation with switchable headlights and tail lights and driver's cab lighting
For the sake of simplicity, the double traction of Re 4/4 II and Re 6/6 is referred to as Re 10/10. This name is derived from the ten driven axles that the double-unit has and therefore does not refer to a separate locomotive type. The Re 10/10 is used by the SBB almost exclusively in front of heavy freight trains on the Gotthard route. The strong duo manages the prescribed maximum load of 1,400 tons on the tow hook at 80 kilometers per hour on a gradient of 26 per thousand.
