Prototype: German Federal Railroad (DB) class 038 (38.10-40) passenger steam locomotive with a tub-style tender. Former P 8. Boiler with 2 domes and Witte smoke deflectors. Road number 038 313-3. Authentic signs of weathering.
Model: The locomotive has an mfx digital decoder and extensive sound functions. It also has controlled high-efficiency propulsion. 3 axles powered. Traction tires. The 72270 smoke unit can be installed in the locomotive. The triple headlights change over with the direction of travel. They and the smoke unit that can be installed in the locomotive will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. Maintenance-free warm white LEDs are used for the lighting. There is a close coupling between the locomotive and tender. The engineer's cab is detailed. Brake hoses, prototype couplers, and piston protection sleeves are included.
