New in 2025: Design variant of the BR 143 of the DR in Era IV in a striking S-Bahn livery. The PIKO model impresses with its successful mold construction without annoying mold parting lines and the harmonious implementation of all relevant details of the original machine. The lighting is provided by LEDs. The driver's cab lighting and the front and tail lights, which function depending on the direction of travel, can be digitally switched with the factory-integrated PluX22 decoder. The model, which has a die-cast zinc frame, has a five-pole motor with precisely balanced flywheels for excellent driving characteristics and two traction tires for high tractive forces, which are arranged diagonally on the inner axles of both bogies. Attachable brake hose dummies are included with the BR 143 model. The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx® test and have fully passed it. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
