New in 2025: Variant of the BR 499 as S489.0 Laminátka in the ČSD version in Era IV. The sound version of the model has a PSD XP sound decoder including the largest possible loudspeaker. The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
