Piko 40645 - SilverCoin 1./2. Cl. Coach DB IV
N SilverCoin 1./2. Cl. Coach DB IV
New Piko item for 2022: Print variant of the DB 1st/2nd class passenger car in Era IV. Among railroad fans, a family of German Federal Railroad commuter cars is called a Silberling. The cars owe the name "Silberlinge" to their stainless steel body. Over 5,000 examples were built between 1961 and 1980 and could be found at DB Regio until the beginning of 2020. The cars are also often referred to as n cars after their sub-generic designation.
With the n-cars, PIKO has included a vehicle type in its assortment that should practically not be missing on any model railroad whose theme is the German Federal Railroad or the DB AG.
As with the prototype, the models differ in window layout and interior design depending on the car class, and the dimensions have been converted to N scale to match the prototype. Mold construction at the highest level ensures extremely plastic-looking bogies and the high-quality painting and printing familiar from PIKO gives the vehicles an excellent finish.
The cars are prepared for the uncomplicated retrofitting of interior lighting.
