Piko 50703 - ~BR 62 Steam Locomotive DB III Sound (MFX)
Sound steam locomotive BR 62 DB III AC version, including PIKO sound decoder and steam generator
New for 2024: This new design from PIKO is powerful, compact and yet extremely delicate. The squat design of the prototype was perfectly captured and implemented to scale in the model. Thanks to the delicate bar frame and the clear view of the engine area, the massive boiler almost appears to be floating. This impression is supported by the fine wheel stars of the chassis, which also has a fine brake linkage. The typical structural features of the models were also taken into account when implementing them into the model.
The crystal-clear window inserts of the driver's cab and the unobstructed interior allow a clear view of the detailed boiler and driver's cab rear wall. The die-cast zinc and metal parts give the model a very high weight, which in combination with the finely tuned motor with flywheels ensures optimal driving characteristics. Using the factory-installed PSD XP sound decoder, the lighting of the engine and the driver's cab as well as the flickering in the firebox can be switched digitally.
The model bears the “fits mfx®” quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital centers, a new quality mark “fits mfx®” was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have ondergone a special mfx® test and have passed it completely.
These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the “fits mfx®” quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
