New Piko item for 2024: Model of the MKB, Mindener Kreisbahnen GmbH. The large side surfaces with the striking fans and the roof with a pantograph characterize the appearance of the modern Vectron Dual Mode. Great importance was also attached to details in construction and tool making: extremely plastic-looking engravings of the ventilation grilles and bogies with excellent optical depth effect underline this. Technically, the model continues the proven line of PIKO constructions. A powerful mid-engine serves as the drive, two flywheels ensure excellent running properties and diagonally arranged traction tires allow the transport of long trains. In digital mode, driver's cab and driver's desk lighting can be switched digitally. The modern PluX22 interface allows a quick attach of a suitable decoder. The model is also prepared for the uncomplicated retrofit of sound with the largest possible loudspeaker.

The locos were delivered in the first quarter of 2021 for use on MKB’s existing freight services as well as to haul new traffic.

Mindener Kreisbahnen traces its history to 1898. It is 100% owned by the Minden-Lübbecke district authority, and has a 40 route-km network around Minden with 29 private sidings taking it to 50·7 track-km. Its freight traffic in 2018 totalled 614 200 tonnes and 94·5 million tonne-km. The company also owns local bus operator MKB-MühlenkreisBus.
