New in 2025: DB E 44 electric locomotive in Era III in the version with resistance brake. The miniatures of the prototype and the series locomotives of the later 144 series shine with their exact scale. Equally sharp and precise engravings on the housing ensure enormous plastic depth and underline the excellent overall impression. This also continues in the chassis area with numerous extra parts on the striking bogies. Identical in model quality, the differences between the prototype locomotives were nevertheless implemented in the model with the greatest possible level of detail. Technically, the model leaves little to be desired: the drive is both tried and tested and robust. The versions equipped at the factory with a PSD XP sound decoder with vehicle sound bring the typical "growl" of the traction drive to the model railway. In addition, lighting can be switched on in the driver's cab and engine room using the built-in PSD XP sound decoder. The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
