Piko 51831 - E52 Electric Locomotive black chassis DB III
E-locomotive E 52 DB III
New for 2026: In 1922, a new electric locomotive, designated EP 5, was included in the procurement program for the Bavarian branch of the German Reichsbahn (German State Railway) for demanding passenger train service on electrified lines. The drive system of the 35 locomotives was divided into two groups, each with two motors. Other particularly striking features of the locomotives are the continuous long frame and the distinctive box-shaped body with chamfered corners. 29 locomotives were transferred to the DB (German Federal Railway) after World War II, with the last locomotive of the class being retired from active service in 1973. This is a printed version of the DB's BR E52 with a black chassis in Era III. The model features a modern PluX22 interface for easy decoder retrofitting.
