New in 2025: SNCB diesel locomotive DE 18 in Era VI. The model reproduces the proportions, lettering and the characteristic prototypical decor and also takes into account the structural features of the SNCF machine. A powerful motor drives all four wheel sets of the model via two cardan shafts. The model comes with a matching PSD XP sound decoder with a large loudspeaker and impresses with a wide range of digital and sound functions. The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
