Early in its existence, the Deutsche Bundesbahn wanted to replace aging steam switchers with new diesel switchers. In 1951, they designed the V60 diesel locomotive. In 1968, the lighter-weight V60s were reclassified as BR 260, and the heavier versions as BR 261. 

With the locomotives of the PIKO Expert Plus line, operation on the model railway system can be carried out even more prototypically. With the development of the new PIKO digital coupling, shunting operations with remote-controlled, trouble-free coupling and uncoupling of wagons are now possible with the high level of operational reliability that PIKO has come to expect from selected locomotives. The advantages of the popular, lovingly detailed PIKO Expert locomotives are combined with the innovative technical features of the latest developments. 

The locomotives of the Expert Plus line convince with realistic, powerful 12-bit sound with 8 channels and 128 Mbit memory depth with 2.5 watt output power, a fine motor control and various light outputs, which, together with the buffer memory and the innovative digital coupling, enable a new generation of PIKO locomotives. AC version with mfx-capable decoder!
