New in 2025: Variant of the FS E.428 in Era III. A powerful five-pole motor works in the aerodynamically shaped housing. Two precisely balanced flywheels improve the running characteristics. Lighting in red and white that changes with the direction of travel is of course available and is designed using modern LED technology. The model comes with a matching PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker. The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
