New in 2025: Diesel locomotive KM 4000 in the SP 9100 version. The original SP KM 4000 locomotives began their lives as almost identical triplets. But over the years they were changed and differed significantly from one another.The faithful PIKO replicas show the locomotives as they were in the mid-1960s and take into account the structural and color features. These include side air intake grilles, filter boxes and roof vents as well as exposed exhaust systems with flap valves. The locomotive also accurately reproduces the color features of the SP 9100.The powerful motor, in combination with the perfectly balanced flywheels, ensures that the machine runs smoothly. The various light functions are designed using the latest LED technology and can be easily switched digitally using a suitable decoder. The sound versions are equipped with a sound decoder and matching loudspeaker at the factory. The locomotives do not have an NEM coupling shaft. The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centers, a new "fits mfx®" quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test. These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the "fits mfx®" quality mark, which certifies the unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the "fits mfx®" logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
