Between 1882 and 1910, around 1,550 T3 tank locomotives of various designs were delivered to the Prussian State Railway (KPEV) and other state railways. As type Cn2, the M III-4p locomotive had a friction load of 36 t and could reach a maximum speed of 40 km/h with an output of 300 PSi. Around 70 locomotives remained with the German Federal Railway. The last locomotives were decommissioned around 1961.
