Electric locomotive 151 051 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
■ Current collector drive without cover ■ Many attached plug-in parts, some made using etching technology ■ Wheels with low flanges ■ Switchable headlights/tail lights with DIP switch From 1973 onwards, the DB put over 100 of these electric locomotives into service for heavy freight train service. During the development of the 151 series, some of the designs used were those of the 110, 140, 150 and 103 series. Three removable hoods between the driver's cabs make it easier to install and remove larger pieces of equipment. With a top speed of 120 km/h and an output of 5982 kW, the 151 was one of the DB's most powerful freight train locomotives. The model was also regularly used in Austria.
