Schuco 450012400 - VW Fridolin Kundendienst 1:18
VW Fridolin Kundendienst 1:18
Volkswagen AG developed a vehicle that was especially suitable for delivering letters and packages, emptying letter boxes and for use as a country postal vehicle on behalf of Deutsche Post (German Post Office) from the beginning of the 1960s. In order to be able to offer the vehicle to major customer Deutsche Post at a competitive price, VW delved into its parts warehouse. The 34 BHP Boxer engine originated from the 1200 Beetle and the chassis was the same as that of the Karmann Ghia. About 6000 of the VW model 147, which was affectionately known as “Fridolin”, were manufactured between 1964 and 1973. As well as the special postal versions for the German Post Office and the Swiss Post Office, a civilian version of the “Fridolin” was also manufactured.
Represented by Ajckids in the US, Schuco is going to produce in a limited edition of 500 pieces a miniature model of this legendary VW Fridolin to a scale of 1:18 in the PRO R line. This line, consisting of resin as the material, stands for exceptional and highly filigree small series models. By means of this highgrade model material, it is possible to produce very rare and exotic exemplary vehicles in perfect quality and also in low and exclusive production runs.
