Auto Union Grand Prix racing cars enjoyed great success on the track between 1934 and the start of the Second World War in 1939. These racing cars, planned and designed by Ferdinand Porsche, achieved performance figures that are still pretty respectable to this day. Even back then, the Auto Union Type C reached a top speed of 340 kph with its V16 engine. Furthermore, it proved to be the most successful car of the 1936 Grand Prix season and set no less than 30 world records.
The memory of this legendary racing car is now honoured by a Studio II Schuco model in the form of a vintage toy. The kit contains the pre-assambled Studio II along with a tool kit and car jack. This tin model toy of outstanding quality is limited to just 1000 copies worldwide and will prove to be hugely popular thanks to its amazing details and functional parts, such as removable wheels and steerable front axle. In addition, the typical integrated winding mechanism of the Studio models turns this Studio II into yet another real gem of the Schuco range.
