Since already in the early stage of the German economic miracle, the demand for inexpensive and versatile transport vehicles had increased sharply, Volkswagen began in 1950 with the production of the so-called VW Type 2. The all-rounder, now affectionately called „VW Bulli“ by its numerous fans, developed into the outstanding mule of the economic boom in Germany in the 1950s.

Schuco dedicates a 1:43 scale model with Westfalia trailer and skis to the VW T1 Samba.

There will also be a 1:43 scale VW T1b Camper, as well as a VW T1b flatbed with trailer and VW Beetle #53 as a 2021 novelty.
