Opel GT, orange 1:43

For many young people it was the dream sports car of the late 60’s and early 70’s. The Opel GT, of which 103,463 were manufactured between 1968 and 1973. This small sports car, which was affectionately known as the “Baby Corvette” by many car enthusiasts because of its similar design to the Chevrolet Corvette, was available as the GT 1100 with 60 BHP and a top speed of 155 km/h and also as the GT 1900 with 90 BHP and a top speed of 185 km/h. Its so-called “Coke Bottle design” together with the characteristic pop-up headlights gave the Opel GT an unmistakeable image, and it is now a sought-after classic.
