The Unprotected Transport Vehicle (UTF) has replaced the MAN KAT1 series used by the Bundeswehr for over 40 years. By the end of 2018, the Bundeswehr had already received more than 2,000 vehicles of this new truck. Visually very similar to its predecessor vehicles, the UTF series covers military payload classes from 5 to 15 tons and features both off-road ABS and an automatic transmission. Manufactured by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), the UTF features a 10.5-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel engine rated at 440 hp.
